6 Things to Know

Here are SIX things I need you to know about the Celtics right now:

*Please note my boyfriend (shoutout Anthony!!!) did help me put together this list…but I am the guru behind the keyboard assembling it and stat researching!*

1.Marcus Smart & His Hand

The Celtics’ point guard Marcus Smart swiped at a picture frame on the wall and injured his hand. He tweeted an explanation to his fans to express his “sincerest apologies” and to promise to learn from this and come back “better than ever”. Smart will miss the next two weeks of basketball.

2.Kyrie Knee Surgery Rumors

I thought that these rumors were kind of irrelevant because Kyrie himself denied the allegations, but apparently it is rumored that the Celtics’ point guard and 2018 All-Star threatened to time his knee surgery during the season as part of the Cleveland Cavaliers roster if the team did not trade him. Like I said, Kyrie said that this isn’t true, but still funny, seeing as Kyrie did have two years left on his contract so it all made sense that he felt that he needed to threaten the team to get out of Cleveland.

3.All Star Game/ LeBron picks Kyrie

Okay, so, apparently the new All-Star game is formatted like a huge game of pickup? You may have seen the votes on Twitter to elect two “team-captains”, which ended up naming LeBron James and Steph Curry as team captains. Lebron James says Kyrie Irving was an “easy choice” for his squad.

4.Gordon Hayward Shooting/Traveling

Anyone who has seen the videos circulating the internet sports world of Gordon Hayward shooting on the court is excited to see the beloved Celtic back in action. Hayward has been traveling with the Celtics, as well as showing off his non-jumper (still not quite ready yet) jump shot.

5.Celtics VS Warriors

The Celtics played the Warriors back in November and won 92-88. Saturday, they faced off again at Golden State. The Warriors won 109 to 105. The Warriors are first in the Western Conference with a record of 40-10, and the Celtics are first in the Eastern Conference with a record of 35-15.

6.My Celtics VS Knicks (Wednesday January 31, 2018) Plans

I’m going to this Wednesday’s home game!!! Woot woot!!! Stay tuned for my special edition Celtics Friday post later this week featuring my real-life testimony from TD Garden!
