I don’t know if you guys have heard, but there’s been some soccer going on lately.
In all seriousness, I’ve refrained from talking about the World Cup before now because I know nothing about soccer and wanted to avoid publicly shaming myself. However, in the wake of England getting bounced from the tournament at the hands of the Croatian squad (who will be facing off against France in Sunday’s final) I would be remiss in not talking about what went down at least a little bit.
Despite scoring an early goal, England went down with a final score of 2-1. The general attitude of England’s supporters on social media is that of crushing defeat mixed with fierce pride. If there’s a sense of optimism that rises above the pervasive gloom, it’s due to the youth of their national squad (the average player age is 26) and the inexperience that they overcame by flirting with World Cup glory.
Here are a few of the post-game social media stories, compiled for your viewing pleasure.

For what it’s worth, I’m officially #TeamCroatia going forward.
Obvious News: Tom Brady is Competitive
Last week, the GOAT gifted his social media followers with a video of a family dodgeball game taken on vacation in Montana.
Anyone who has watched Brady play a single game knows how competitive he is by nature. Not even his mom Galynn was safe; after she soft-tossed a ball underhand in his direction, Brady fired his famed cannon in her direction.

Gordon Hayward’s Reveal
Gordon Hayward may be in hot water with his wife after his tepid reaction to their gender reveal went viral.
Hayward, who is already the father of two small daughters, seemed less than enthused to open a box filled with pink balloons.
Watch his response and cringe.
Gordon Hayward had a pretty funny reaction at his family’s latest gender reveal.
