I have a few things I’d like to say in today’s article, so obviously a list is needed!
1)I patiently read this Bleacher Report article entitled Warriors Dominance Isn’t Ruining the NBA; Look at Your Own Team. The title basically says it all, as the complains from the Warrior’s empire is causing NBA fans to claim they won’t watch this season… However, I pulled some fun facts out of this reading and did a little extra research, which is always fun when I get to research stats are from 20 years before I was even born.
In 1975-1976 season, the Boston Celtics put 5 players on the court that were All-Stars in the previous season: Jo Jo White, Charlie Scott, Dave Cowens, Paul Silas and John Havlicek.
That ‘75-’76 team finished 1st in the NBA Atlantic Division with a 54-28 record, beat the Buffalo Brats in the Eastern Conference Semifinals, the Cleveland Cavaliers in the Eastern Conference Finals, and beat the Phoenix Suns 4-2 in the Finals. The next year, there were some roster changes, and the team lost in the Eastern Conference Semifinals.
The bottom line was that plenty of decisions from other organizations pave the way for teams to rise to dominance. Opinions?
2)Baby fever with the NBA right now! Al Horford just welcomed a baby girl, and Gordon Hayward just revealed he will be having another girl (see Whitney’s article here). Steph Curry named his baby boy “Canon”, and I’m a little afraid for that baby to not fulfill his father’s expectations on the court. Of course, Khloe Kardashian had Tristan Thompson’s baby, True, a few months ago.
3)NBA free agency is far from over, but a lot of big names have made their moves. Right now, I’m liking the looks of the Oklahoma City Thunder, as George, Westbrook, and Steven Adams seem like a solid Big 3, and they all have contracts through 2021!
