NBA Rumor: Are the Celtics going to open the 2018-2019 season against the 76ers?

The two Eastern Conference powerhouses will be an interesting matchup, but starting the season with such fierce competition is an interesting idea. We all remember the playoffs and the rivalry. To further feed my excitement, and hopefully yours, I’ve piled together some comparable numbers:

Celtics’ Record 2017-2018: 55-27

Eastern Conference Place:

76ers’ Record Eastern Conference Place: 3rd

Bottom line:

Last year the 76ers were seen as a pretty consistent offensive team. They averaged 5.8 more points a game than the Celtics. However, the Celtics was the 3rd in the NBA in defensive scoring, where the 76ers ranked 11th.
