Buzz Bulletin: Postseason Baseball Is Here

Let’s dive right into the good stuff this week. And by the good stuff, I mean the hype video bestowed upon us by the MLB and narrated by my generation’s childhood hero Ken Griffey, Jr. It’s a sharply edited supercut of the most fabulously flagrant “no-no’s” committed by major leaguers this season, and it’s got me pumped the heck up.

Watch, and tell me you’re not completely stoked on playoff baseball.

Speaking of playoff ball, check out this strange yet heartwarming clip of Javy Baez and Nolan Arenado sharing a special moment to end a play.

Et Tu, Paul Pierce?

This week, Celtics point guard Kyrie Irving finally addressed his Very Bad Take disputing whether the earth is round, an argument that infuriatingly somehow continues despite, you know, science.

Irving took the stage at the Forbes Under 30 summit in Boston on Monday and apologized for his role in perpetuating the flat earth nonsense.

“To all the science teachers, everybody coming up to me like, `You know I’ve got to reteach my whole curriculum?’ I’m sorry,” said Irving, eliciting laughter from the crowd. “At the time, I was like huge into conspiracies. And everybody’s been there.”

Rachel Nichols was attempting to cover this story on ESPN’s The Jump when Pierce stepped into the conversation. It was not good.

I’m choosing to hold out hope that The Truth was joking.

Congratulations to Jemele Hill

Jemele Hill’s got a new gig in the wake of her breakup with ESPN earlier this year, and from the sounds of things, it couldn’t be a better match for her.

BRB, just subscribing to The Atlantic real quick. (Just kidding, that’s expensive.)
