Buzz Bulletin: Peaky B’s

The Bruins were making news at Tuesday’s NHL Winter Classic before they even had a chance to lace up their skates.

The team showed up to Notre Dame Stadium in South Bend rocking their best looks inspired by BBC’s Peaky Blinders, a crime drama about notorious British gangsters in the early 20th century. Apparently, the team got hooked on the show during their preseason trip to China and found it a fitting way to pay homage to their Winter Classic hosts, Notre Dame and the Fighting Irish.

Check out the looks.

Zdeno Chara

Z looked snazzy AF headed into the stadium, where he had a decent afternoon if not a flashy one. The longtime captain had four hits and blocked three shots.

Tuukka Rask and Patrice Bergeron

Bergeron was as clutch as always on Tuesday, coming in hot with a goal and an assist as well as a slew of impressive defensive plays. Rask also turned in a beautiful performance, making 36 stops and only allowing two goals to slip past him.

Brad Marchand

Brad Marchand looked dapper in checks before lighting the lamp at the makeshift rink in Notre Dame Stadium. He ended the game with one goal out of five shot attempts.

Torey Krug

According to Brad Marchand, Torey Krug was the first to bring in the tailor that ended up working with most of the team to achieve their vintage looks. Krug scored one point during the game in the form of an assist to Patrice Bergeron.

David Pastrnak

Pasta’s look wasn’t the only thing on fire that day. He continued in his All-Star style by scoring two points—an assist and a power-play point.

Here’s the whole team. Let this image sustain you throughout the new year.

WTF is going on with Antonio Brown?

I’ve been trying to keep up with the Antonio Brown saga because it’s clearly tea that I need to spill, but let me tell you, it’s a roller coaster.

It started when AB sat out the Steelers’ season finale against the Bengals this Sunday, apparently in the wake of a tiff with QB and team daddy Ben Roethlisberger. According to NFL gossip, Brown requested a trade after the game (a claim denied by coach Mike Tomlin on Wednesday). Since then, he’s kept the rumor mill churning.

First came this tweet on Wednesday:

Then, an hour later:

And later that night, this red herring of an appearance on Fox’s The Masked Singer:

We’ll see what actually happens with AB, but in the meantime, he’s making sure his name stays in our mouths.
