With the draft looming a few short weeks away, teams are busy figuring out who can make their teams better. Here’s my take on what your team needs to do in the draft to take the next step.

AFC East – Miami Dolphins

1st Round: 13
2nd Round: 48
3rd Round: 79

Hear that? That huge sigh of relief is the sound of Dolphins fans exhaling now that the Ryan Tannehill era (error) is over. Once thought to be the future in Miami, injuries and inconsistencies plagued Tannehill, an observation that all fans and most sportswriters made LONG before the Miami brass did. Ryan Fitzpatrick will try to bring some magic back into his favorite division, the AFC East. He’s now been on the roster of every team in the division except for the Patriots, and who knows. He is, after all, a Harvard guy. With the QB riddle seemingly answered in South Beach, what else will the Dolphins need to do to take a step forward? The answer is a few things. They should always be looking to improve along the defensive line. Miami has given Tom Brady fits with aggressive pass rushers that collapse the pocket. If they want to stand a chance in the AFC East, job one will be finding someone to be a thorn in the G.O.A.T.’s side. It wouldn’t be a bad idea to beef up along the offensive line, either. Miami allowed 52 sacks last year, tied for fifth-most in the league. Ryan Fitzpatrick isn’t what you’d call a mobile QB at this point, so that’s got to change for Miami to contend. Another boost might be a target for some quick and easy dump off yardage. A pass-catching running back or sure-handed tight end would fit the bill.
