Buzz Bulletin: Boston’s Got Bruins Fever

There’s nothing quite like the electricity that’s abuzz in the New England air when we’ve got a team in the championships. Between the Red Sox, the Patriots, and now the Bruins, we’ve gotten to enjoy the feeling a lot over the last several months. Those of us in New England are officially spoiled rotten. (Let’s not talk about the Celtics, though. I’m mad at them.)

In the city’s usual fashion, Boston is throwing all kinds of support behind its home team’s quest for the Cup. Landmarks around the city might look a little different than normal to passersby, like the dressed-up ducks in the Boston Public Garden:

And the Arthur Fiedler statue on the Esplanade:

Edward Everett Hale’s statue in the Public Garden has never looked better:

The Prudential Center got all dressed up:

As did a few manhole covers near the Garden:

Even Legoland is getting in on the action with their own watch party creation:

Boston isn’t messing around, you guys.

If you weren’t already pumped up with playoff fever, this hype video will get the job done. (And you may recognize the narrator.)

If the Bruins do get a chance to hoist the Cup, Boston will be making a pretty solid mark in sports history.

As of right now, only Detroit has the distinction of having won three championships in the “big four” American sports leagues in a single season (defined as being within a 12 month span). In 1935, the Tigers, the Lions, and the Red Wings all brought championships to the Motor City. (The NBA hadn’t been founded yet.) If all goes according to plan for Bruce Cassidy’s squad throughout their next few games against the Blues, it will seal the deal for Boston in the record books.

Yes, please.
